Genesis Tutors and Support is committed to delivering education and support services in an environmentally responsible and sustainable way. As a growing organisation, we recognise our responsibility to consider the environmental impact of our activities and to build sustainable working practices into our service as we develop.

Our delivery model naturally supports this commitment. A significant proportion of our education mentoring alternative provision and wider support services can be delivered online, helping to reduce unnecessary travel for practitioners children young people and families.

Where face-to-face support is commissioned, we aim to deliver services within suitable local or community settings wherever practical. This helps reduce unnecessary travel while keeping provision accessible to the young person.

Digital-First Working

We use digital systems wherever appropriate to reduce our reliance on paper and physical resources. This includes electronic communication digital learning resources online meetings electronic record keeping and digital documentation.

Printing is kept to a minimum and resources are reused where appropriate while ensuring that safeguarding confidentiality and data protection requirements are maintained.

Travel and Energy

Remote working and online service delivery help us minimise emissions associated with commuting and business travel. Where travel is necessary, we aim to plan provision efficiently and consider local delivery options wherever possible.

We also encourage the responsible use of equipment and energy including switching off equipment when it is not required and avoiding unnecessary consumption.

Sustainable Procurement

As Genesis Tutors and Support grows, environmental considerations will increasingly form part of our purchasing and procurement decisions. Where practical and proportionate, we will consider durability responsible sourcing reduced packaging reuse and value over the lifetime of products and services.

Measuring Our Progress

As a small and developing organisation, we are continuing to develop the systems needed to measure and monitor our environmental impact. We are committed to reviewing our carbon footprint as the business grows and introducing more formal carbon reduction targets and reporting where appropriate or required by the contracts and frameworks under which we operate.

Where applicable, we will consider relevant government guidance and procurement requirements when developing our approach to carbon reduction.
